Yesterday, today and tomorrow: Different but Alike

Yesterday, today and tomorrow: Different but Alike
Have you ever heard the famous sentence of Bil Keane: “Yesterday is history, tomorrow is a mystery and today is a gift of God which is why we call it, the present”? Yes, yesterday is past which happened in our life; tomorrow is future which we don’t know what will happen, but today is present which we know exactly who we are and what is going on in our life. Therefore, in this writing, I want to share some ideas about the different but alike of yesterday, today and tomorrow.
The first difference is time – the cycle of life. Yesterday is the day that passed and we could not restore, change or fix it. Yesterday disappeared along with time and became the past in our memories. However, it did not disappear with the memories, experiences and lessons what we experienced. If yesterday is the past, today is present, a day that we continue with the cycle of life and live with the present moment which many people believe that it is the most important time and deserve to live most. It is time to try our best and live fully with “the present” that God gave us. It is also time to prepare for the following day, tomorrow. Clearly, time of tomorrow is a mystery which nobody can know exactly what will happen. Whether we like it or not, tomorrow will still come and we will have a new day with new things which are looking forward to us ahead.
Next, yesterday, today and tomorrow give us the different values about life: experiences, opportunities and hope. First, yesterday gave us experiences and lessons from what we have experienced. As we know, the past is a good teacher who gave us experiences to stand firm and to be more mature in this life. Through our success, failure or the ups and the downs, we feel more confident to face with the difficulties and the challenges in our life. Next, today gives us opportunities to discover and know our life more. Moreover, today gives us opportunities to decide what we want to do, to make our dreams come true. Sometimes, our future depends on the present moment with our decisions, so let's enjoy this life with excitement as when we open a gift. Lastly, tomorrow will give us chance to hope, to desire the best things. I believe that everyone always wants to have a new better day. Perhaps, today we are living in suffering, but we can hope that tomorrow everything will be better. Moreover, tomorrow is also an inspiration for us making a plan, having dream and putting in it a hope of a happy life.
Although yesterday, today and tomorrow have the differences in the way that we know about time and the distinctive values about life, they still share a certain common meaning in our life.
We always have to remember that we will never have today or tomorrow if we don’t have yesterday. We will never stand firm this life, if we don’t have experiences in the past. Especially, the past is a part of memory which keeps our heart, our mind feel more peaceful before the changes of life. Perhaps, yesterday we had a terrible day with full of sorrow and tear, but it will be the past for today and we can forget it in future. So the most important thing is what we learned from our event and attitude that we want to choose to live today and how to make a plan for future. Moreover, they help us to recognize that every day we are the result of every past decision and tomorrow we are going to be the result of the decisions which we are making today. So if we are doing things today that will make us better tomorrow.
Therefore, yesterday, today and tomorrow: different but alike and to conclude my writing, I want to borrow a poem which I found on the internet to express the deep meaning of yesterday, today and tomorrow:
Yesterday decides today
Today decides tomorrow
It's a never ending cycle
Filled with happiness
Sadness and confusion
It's a roller coaster ride

So hold on tight
